[02 Jun 2008|11:32am] LJ Retired. 02/06/05 I've been writing in this fandom for about three years and it's been great fun, I've learned more than I thought possible and made friends I'll never forget. However it's time for me to move my primary focus onto original fic. Not because it's better or worse, but because it's what I need. To those ends I have opened a new lj empty_mirrors for my original stories. Anyone who's interested will be welcome to pop on over. This live journal will remain as an archive. Help needed! Chatting [05 May 2005|09:34am] [ mood | awake ] Morning everyone. Apologies for not posting the rest of my concert reporty thing, I shall get to it later. Currently I'm hiding on my computer 'cos we have chicks downstairs, fluffy yellow peeping things. They were too touch and go to leave with mum so we brought them home and, damn, those little buggers are loud. I'm a floor up, am playing music and the door's closed and I can still hear them. Plus I ws up 3 times in the night with the dog who had apparently eaten something that didn't agree. *sigh* So much for rested. While I'm here, has anyone seen my words? I appear to have misplaced them. I started this kinda odd RPS'y type thing and, rereading it, I'm thinking, now what? I have no words. Bugger. I so hate this. [08 Apr 2005|12:57pm] [ mood | curious ] So I was chatting with logophilos - she of the great original slash series Darshian Tales - and we decided that a recs comm for original slash might be worth setting up. The idea would be to have it as a partner community to unique_pleasure, which is primarily for authors. This new community would be a place where readers could find new stories and present them for others to check out, a place readers can use to recommend their favourites/new discoveries, and where authors can announce completed works. I also want it to be a place where people discuss original slash - creating a 'fandom' if you like, for the genre we all love. However, LJ is littered with the dead bodies of such comms, started with great enthusiasm and quickly abandoned. We don't want that to happen this time. So, to that end - what would encourage you post and comment in such a forum? Would you willing to post links to stories you've seen recced or posted and ask for comments? Rec stories you have read? Ask for stories in a certain genre to be recced to you? What do you want from such a comm? Do you even *want* such a comm at all?
